Our Story

Welcome to our page! My Calm Corner was founded and created by mums Jasmin and Alexandra. Not only are we two mums with young children, but we also have a background in education and child development through our careers as an Early Childhood Educator and a Social Worker. Through our professions and now with our own little ones, we have a deep passion for products that allow children to play and explore whilst building important skills such as sensory processing, emotion regulation and cognitive development.

Our goal is to create products and tools that encourage engaging, mindful and super fun experiences for all ages. We love that our DIY products allow children to explore every stage of the experience, from the process of making to the fun of playing! Our products were thoughtfully created to help children and adults build connections and memories. By encouraging children to be a part of the whole process, we are fostering their confidence, autonomy and independence. Our DIY products mean that your little ones can take ownership of their play, leaving them in charge of their own fun.

I am one half of the My Calm Corner duo Jasmin – a passionate Social Worker with a drive to foster healthy parent/child relationships. As a mum and a Social Worker, meaningful play is something I believe to be really special. From my professional and personal experiences, my dream is to create products and resources that give parents and children a meaningful, safe and fun way to learn about emotions and mindfulness.

I am the other half of our duo, Alexandra! I am a mum to two young daughters and a trained Early Childhood Educator. Through my profession, and now with my own little ones, I have always had a passion for play based and open-ended learning.  Once I became a mum, I found a new enjoyment and appreciation of how children play and learn. I love to watch their wonder when they discover something new, their pride when they accomplish something for the first time and their pure happiness when they’re having fun!
For me, sensory play is a way for children to explore and do all of those things in one. There is always a new way to play and a new thing to learn.
